Anushka Sharma was the lead in the film "Band Baaja Baaraat. The actress played the role of a Punjabi woman of middle class, who has her own wedding company. The movie got positive reviews. Anushka's 3-film contract at Yash Raj Films ended with the release of Band Baaja Baaraat.
